If you get into a car accident during your workday, follow these steps to ensure your safety and well-being. First, prioritize your safety and the safety of others involved. Call 911 if medical assistance is needed, and notify your Field Supervisor about the accident as soon as possible. Be ready to provide your insurance details and assess whether your car is drivable. If it's not, let your supervisor know, and they will reassign your tasks for the day. CleanFlorida offers attorney support at no charge for all accidents, even if you are at fault, so you can get legal assistance before speaking to your insurance company.
You are entitled to one paid day off to organize car repairs, and additional days will be unpaid but job-secured. Make sure you have rental car coverage through your insurance if you need to continue working. If you're injured and unable to work, we will assist you with navigating time off and insurance issues.
An incident report must be filled out with your supervisor's help, and daily check-ins will continue until you return to work. For accidents occurring outside of work hours, your personal insurance will cover the costs, but our attorney can still assist you with legal matters without upfront costs.
In case of a hurricane, CleanFlorida has a simple plan to keep you safe and in the loop.

If you get injured on the job, your first step is to report it to your supervisor right away. Make sure to take photos of the injury and write a brief description of what happened while it's fresh in your mind. If it’s life-threatening, call 911 immediately. For less serious injuries, let your supervisor know if you can’t keep working, and they’ll arrange for you to be taken to urgent care or another approved facility.
Even minor injuries, like cuts or bumps, should be reported to ensure proper documentation. Delays in reporting could result in a denied insurance claim. If you receive treatment, expect to take a drug and alcohol test—claims will be denied if substances are found. If you decline treatment but feel worse later, you have seven days to seek medical care.
CleanFlorida can provide light-duty work if you’re unable to perform your usual tasks while you recover. For more serious injuries that prevent you from working, the insurance company will handle wage compensation, though it may take some time. You’ll be compensated for one follow-up appointment, but any additional medical visits must be scheduled outside of work hours.
Make sure to notify your supervisor 48 hours before any medical appointment and submit documentation to receive compensation. Further appointments may require PTO or unpaid leave. Exceptions to this policy will be handled on a case-by-case basis. CleanFlorida is committed to prioritizing your recovery while ensuring operations run smoothly.
