If something gets broken or damaged during a cleaning visit, follow these steps immediately:
Notify Your Supervisor: Take photos of the damage and report it right away to your direct supervisor.
Inform the Client:
If the client is home, inform them about the incident directly.
If the client is not home, leave a detailed note explaining what happened and notify your manager as well.
Don't Worry About Breaking Things: Mistakes happen. You won't get in trouble for an accident. Our team handles many items every day, and we understand that sometimes things can break. However, failing to report an incident can lead to disciplinary action because honesty is one of our core values at CleanFlorida.
Follow-Up by the Field Supervisor: The Field Supervisor will contact the client to explain the situation, discuss next steps, and coordinate with you to gather more details. You will be asked to provide your photos and input for an official Incident Report.
Always Be Honest: Never hide a broken item. Both clients and management understand that accidents happen, and they value transparency. In nearly 20 years of business, CleanFlorida has only lost a couple of clients due to a broken item. But we have lost clients because we weren’t upfront about damage. The management team will have to take disciplinary action, which could include suspension or termination, if a broken item is hidden or unreported.
Remember: It’s always better to inform the office right away than to try to cover things up.
